How to Sign up and Order a Lyft Car

Need help signing up for Lyft? Are you ready to order your first Lyft ride? Follow the steps below to learn how to navigate the Lyft app and get around your city.

How to Sign Up for Lyft

1. First download the Lyft app from the app store.

2. Create Your Lyft account 

You will need to provide information such as your name, phone number, email address, and a photo of you. 

3. Enter in the verification code sent to your phone.

After entering in the code and personal information your account will be all set up!

4. You are now ready to request your first ride!

How to Request a Lyft

Lyft’s interface is pretty straight forward. Upon opening the app, you will see a map of your immediate area with a pin in your location. TIP: Make sure to turn on location services for the Lyft app!

1. First choose your vehicle option (Lyft calls it "ride mode").

Lyft offers different services that range from economy from luxury options. For a full list of Lyft services, click here. 

2. Enter your pickup address and tap "Set Pickup"

You can either drag the pin to where you want to be picked up from, or manually enter the address. 

3. Enter your drop off address and tap "Set Dropoff"

4. Finally, press "Request Lyft" to complete the ride request. 

5. Enjoy your ride! And don't forget to rate your driver when the ride is completed.
