No, frankly, I hate these kinds of things. When I want to donate I will write a nice check to the organization of my choice. If I did every "round up" thing and give a dollar at the supermarket things I would be broke.
You know what I don't like about programs like these. I am the one donating but at the end of the day Lyft will say "Hey, we are awesome, we donated over a million dollars to fight cancer this year!". That just really bothers me that they are taking credit for the good graces of others.

nope, I don't trust that Lyft is actually donating are money. More likely that this is "round up and donate to our execs".
As a rider I wouldn't. I dont care for the organizations they picked. For instance United Way top exec's make over $400k per year. Trust for Public Land project manager makes over 100K per yr. USO over 250K for execs there. Donate some of their salary. They are raising $ doing a job but look at the salaries they are taking. Seriously? Dont know the salaries on the other charities but I have a feeling they are up there also. Not saying to work for free but thats a bit much IMO.
Yes all of them fight for a cause but I see other causes more important. CPS, many cities in the US not just Chicago need help with their school systems. Not only do they need better schools but more safety in schools. Look at people dropping dead everyday from drug overdoses, the homeless, Vets (just not USO), health insurance, the elderly who cant afford all their meds. Lyft drivers may need to be added to that list soon. They keep cutting rates. In some markets to .35 per mile. Dont trust Lyft to turn all the money over either.

Good point regarding actually looking at the charities. I am amazed at how many people just turn these things on without even looking into where their money is going.
I do, not quite sure why I decided to turn it on but seems like a nice thing to do. I also am so type A I love seeing my totals as even dollar amounts LOL
