Which scooter wins? Bird, Lime, Uber Scooter, or Lyft Scooter?

Have e scooters rentals come to your town yet? You might have seen a sudden wave of scooter riders in your city, or you may have noticed them parked on sidewalks.

So far, the biggest scooter companies are Bird and Lime. Each is already valued over a billion dollars! Uber and Lyft have also entered the mix by acquiring smaller scooter companies and launching scooter services in California and Colorado.

Now that there are so many scooter options, a lot of people are wondering what the differences are between each scooter company, and which scooter offers the best ride and value. I took a look at the four major scooter companies and compared them on the features that matter most.

Bird vs. Lime vs. Uber Scooter vs. Lyft Scooter: Which is best?

If you want to skip to the good part: I found that there are no major differences between the scooter companies, and nearly all of them charges the exact same prices. Not similar, but EXACTLY the same. And the scooters they use all have similar features. In the end, the scooter that wins is the scooter that's closest to you.

I hadn't seen them at all until I visited LA last week.  They are INSANE. They are everywhere, and all I can say is that they are polluting the city. People are leaving them everywhere.

Went to Long Beach and I literally saw them strewn all over the boardwalk. I heard they are were trying to crack down on them, but I saw no cracking down. LOL.

Well, unless it was much worse a few months ago.  Haha

In New England, we don't really see them much.  Starting to see the bikes like Lime and those provided by MGH and Partners' Org.

I haven't used them but it seems like they are all the same. I can't really see how you can make a scooter "unique" anyways...

I was looking to see how the companies might distinguish myself and so far it seems less about features/benefits and more about getting more scooters on the streets. Not a bad tactic, but eventually they will need to innovate.

Same problem the whole rideshare industry has really. Only real way they can compete is on price and availability.

I think price really is going to be king here. In the end whoever can do it the cheapest will win.

They're basically commodities as I see it... All offer the exact same thing.

Prices are NOT exactly the same. I'm in Mesa, AZ & have used Lyft & Lime. Both have the typical $1 to unlock but Lyft is $0.14/minute cheaper! That's a huge difference!

Im in Boston and I don't think we have these yet. My friend did go out to Cali and used one (not sure which company) and broke a rib!! Not sure these would work well on the cobbled streets of Boston 😂

Nothing in Boston yet. I am dreading their arrival. I assume they will get here eventually even though most of the local govts are pushing back pretty hard.
